The Best Temperature to Pour Soy Wax

One of the most common challenges in candle making is getting a smooth, even surface with soy wax. If the wax is poured too hot, it may cause sinkholes or frosting. Too cool, and you might see uneven tops or bubbles.

The best pour temperature for soy wax is usually around 135–145°F (57–63°C), though it can vary slightly depending on your fragrance oil and container. At this range, the wax bonds well with fragrance and cools at a steady pace, resulting in a clean, glassy finish.

👉 Pro Tip: Pre-warm your glass containers before pouring. This helps prevent sudden temperature changes that can cause imperfections.

If you’re using Golden Wax 464, one of our best-selling soy waxes, we recommend pouring at around 140°F (60°C) for optimal results.
